Camel trekking, a night in the Sahara, and the Atlas Mountains — Tiziri's original cross-country route between Morocco's two great imperial cities.
Day 1
Fes, Monkeys, Oases, Desert Sunset
Fes → Ifrane → Azrou → Midelt → Ziz Canyon & oasis → Erfoud → Merzouga → camel trekking into Erg Chebbi. A journey through cedar forests, over the Middle and High Atlas, and along the palm-lined Ziz Valley before reaching Merzouga by late afternoon. From there, camels (or a 4WD) carry you into the dunes for sunset, a Berber campfire, a Moroccan feast, and traditional music under a genuinely dark sky.
Day 2
Golden Dunes to the Dades Valley
Merzouga → Rissani → Todra Gorge → Dades Valley. An optional sunrise over the dunes, then sandboarding before breakfast. Camel or 4WD back to the kasbah, then on to the Todra Gorge — Morocco's answer to the Grand Canyon — for lunch and a walk along the river. The afternoon continues into the Dades Valley, the 'Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs,' arriving in time for sunset over the gorge.
Day 3
Dades to Marrakech via the High Atlas
Dades Valley → Rose Valley → Skoura → Ouarzazate → Aït Benhaddou → Tizi n'Tichka Pass → Marrakech. A morning through Berber villages and the Valley of the Roses, then Ouarzazate — the 'Hollywood of Morocco' — before Aït Benhaddou, the UNESCO-listed kasbah used as a backdrop in Gladiator and Lawrence of Arabia. The road climbs the Tizi n'Tichka Pass through the High Atlas before descending into Marrakech by late afternoon.
