Meeting Point

From September to June, we recommend arriving at our meeting point about two hours before sunset. It gives you time to park, freshen up and enjoy a glass of tea with us before a short 4WD ride to meet your camels (or a direct 4WD transfer, if you'd rather not ride), so you can reach the dunes for sunset without rushing.

July and August are different. The desert is very hot in high summer, so there's no need to arrive early and wait out the hottest part of the day. Arriving later in the afternoon, once the heat begins to soften, is perfectly fine. Just let us know your expected arrival time and we'll plan your sunset experience around the day's conditions.

The Camel Ride

About 2 hours from town to camp, with a stop on a high dune for sunset. Fully adjustable — tell your guide if you're tired or uncomfortable and a 4WD pickup arrives within 15–20 minutes. It must be reserved and confirmed at least a day before arrival; once confirmed, camels and guides are booked and paid, so late arrivals get a 4WD transfer instead (a later camel ride is still possible for a €25 per-person fee). Bring a scarf or hat, sunglasses, water, and sunblock — your overnight luggage travels to camp by 4WD.

Check-Out

Shower and breakfast after sunrise, then 4WD transfers back to town from around 9:00 AM (15–20 minutes each). Latest check-out is 11:00 AM — preparing the camp for new arrivals takes more than a normal hotel turnover.

Getting Here From Further Afield

We offer private transfers from nearby airports and cities. All prices are per vehicle (1–6 passengers), and travel times are approximate.

If you're already touring Morocco with us as your tour operator, your driver brings you straight to our meeting point — no separate transfer needed.

Eco-Friendly Camp Guidelines

A few things that help us keep the desert the way we found it:

• All electricity comes from solar panels and batteries — please switch off lights and devices when not in use.
• European Type C & E sockets are available for phones, cameras, and laptops. Please avoid high-power devices like hair dryers.
• Water is precious here — please use it sparingly.
• Please don't flush toilet paper; use the bin provided. Our filtration system recycles bathroom water to irrigate the plants around camp.
• Keep tent doors closed and locked to keep sand and insects out.
• Leave shoes on the small carpet at your tent entrance.
• Insect screens let you keep windows open — please close them if there's a sandstorm.
• All shampoo, shower gel, and soap provided are eco-friendly and biodegradable.

Booking Through a Third-Party Platform?

Reservations made through booking platforms (e.g. Booking.com) do not include the camel ride (€25 per person, per camel, reserved in advance) or the city tax & TVA (€4 per person, per night); both must be paid upon arrival at the camp. The camel ride is excluded from platform bookings so that the local camel owners are paid fairly, without a platform commission taken out. Both are included automatically when you book directly with us.
