A New Chapter in Desert Travel
Once upon a time, caravans crossed these very dunes for days or weeks, guided by the stars and led by camels carrying salt, spices, and stories. Today, we offer a quieter, cleaner way to travel: electric desert bikes, gliding gently across the sand — a modern solution that honors ancient routes.
This is not just a tour; it is a return to the spirit of the desert — with a lighter footprint.
The Day Begins – Sunrise and a Slow Morning
At your request, our team can gently wake you at dawn to witness the colors of the Sahara at sunrise — a quiet and sacred moment.
After a peaceful breakfast at camp, your local guide will meet you to begin the day’s journey.
Eco-Friendly Desert E-Bikes Experience
Ride across the dunes on electric bikes, specially adapted for desert terrain. They’re quiet, emission-free, and a true solution to the increasing noise pollution that threatens the serenity of the Sahara.
A Story of Innovation and Intention
At Tiziri, we believe innovation should serve nature.
Our e-bikes are partially powered by solar panels, charged during rest days right here at the camp.
This small detail represents a larger commitment — to clean, sustainable travel in fragile environments.
Your Route Includes
- Visit to a Nomadic Family
You will share mint tea and conversation with a local nomadic family. As they live in deep connection with nature, their availability depends on their duties — whether preparing meals, moving camp, or tending to animals. When the timing aligns, the exchange is heartfelt and real.
- Mifis Mining Site
Explore the abandoned mining village of Mifis, where salt and the ancient eye cosmetic kohl were once extracted. Fossil-rich ground reveals trilobites, ammonites, and remnants of a prehistoric sea that once covered this land.
- Khamlia Village – Gnaoua Culture & Music
In this village of Gnaoua descendants, you’ll be welcomed with traditional spiritual music — a hypnotic blend of rhythm, memory, and ancestral connection from West Africa.
- (Seasonal) Merzouga Lake & Oasis
If rains have come, the nearby lake appears like a mirage — attracting migratory birds. Continue to Merzouga’s community oasis, where locals still farm with traditional methods passed down through generations.
This journey is as much about reflection and respect as it is about discovery.
You’ll burn some calories, yes — but you’ll also gain stories worth keeping.
Return at Sunset – Camel or 4WD
Back at our Kasbah, cool off with a swim or simply rest in the shade. Then, depending on your preference, ride back to camp by camel or 4WD, arriving just in time for a golden sunset across Morocco’s highest dunes.
Evening at Tiziri Camp
End the day with a warm Moroccan dinner, followed by traditional Berber music, storytelling, or quiet stargazing by the fire. The stars here are not just visible — they feel close enough to touch.
As the Amazigh say:
“The silence of the desert speaks to those who are willing to listen.”
Sleep in your eco-luxury tent surrounded by pure silence, ancient winds, and a sky full of timeless light.
Why This Experience Matters
The desert is changing — but how we choose to move through it matters. At Tiziri, we are responding to the rising threat of noise and mass tourism by offering experiences such as desert e-bikes that honor stillness, support local communities, and protect the natural balance of the Sahara.
This tour is our invitation to slow down, rediscover awe, and leave a lighter footprint behind.
“The desert is a place with no expectations — only presence, silence, and stars.”
